My Research

My research interests are broad, but are generally centered around comparative genomics and evolutionary biology of marine organisms, with a focus on marine invertebrates. I am interested in understanding how the genome of an organism shapes its adaptation to the environment. These interests span both basic questions, such as understanding patterns of chromosomal rearrangements, and applied components, such as through using genomic selection or genomic offset models to inform aquaculture breeding programs or conservation and management of wild populations. I have a particular interest in the application of new machine learning-based methods to these questions and almost all of my research projects have a strong computational dimension.
